As one of the most influential 20th century architectural designers, Eileen Gray is noted for her functional and aesthetically pleasing designs. This height adjustable side table was originally designed in 1927 for her own summer house, now recognised as one of Eileen Gray's most rational and functional designs.
Made of a chromed steel tube frame and tempered glass, the height is adjustable from 70cm to 99cm. This elegant side table easily stands out in homes of any style.
Coming from an aristocratic Irish-Scottish family, Eileen Gray went to London and Paris to study architecture and design. She first made a name for herself as a leading designer of lacquered walls and decorative panels. With her theories on design and architecture she left an indelible mark on our ideas about living. Today she is still considered the epitome of Modernism and is the only woman whose name is mentioned in the same breath as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer.
Her tubular steel furniture designs, at the time revolutionary, have become classics. The high point of her career was her appointment to the Royal Society of Art in London in 1972 as Royal Designer to Industry. The Museum of Modern Art added her legendary Adjustable Table E 1027 to its permanent design collection in 1978.
Her lifetime achievement was honored in 2013 with a large solo exhibition at Centre Pompidou. The production of the movie ‘Price of Desire’ and the documentary film ‘Gray matters’ (both 2014) follow the success of this exhibition. After years of restoration work Eileen Gray’s house ‘E 1027’ in Roquebrune is reopened for visitors in summer 2015.

It is the customers’ responsibility to ensure that returned items are returned safely. Place Furniture takes no responsibility for lost goods and the customers will be solely liable for the shipment cost of the return.

Buyer has the responsibilities to ensure custom ordered items are what they are after. We do not offer a refund for custom ordered products due to change of mind. All lead times quoted are an approximation and Place Furniture takes no responsibility for production or customs delays.
Place Furniture provides a 12 month warranty on all products (unless otherwise stated in product detail page). Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, commercial use, damage arising from abnormal use, not properly maintained and being modified goods. Place Furniture has the ultimate discretion to obtain proof of purchase and any further information to decide on warranty outcomes. Products will be repaired or replaced, depending on product circumstances and it is solely at Place Furniture’s discretion.
Contact us if you want to cancel your order, we will do a full refund if the items are still not being dispatched from our warehouse, if otherwise, shipping cost will not be included with the refund.
